Our Vision

"Lead Us Home" is an initiative to address the pressing need for inclusive housing for individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). The campaign seeks to unify various organizations, policymakers, and advocates to dismantle the barriers obstructing the development of accessible and affordable housing. Our goal is to promote a bipartisan approach to legislation that fosters community inclusion, ensuring that every individual, regardless of ability, has a place they can truly call home.

Our Focus - Who We Are

Our team is made up of dedicated non-profit organizations, policymakers, IDD individuals, families, advocates, professionals, volunteers, community members, and politicians who are passionate about making a difference in our communities. We work tirelessly to ensure that our programs and services are meeting the needs of those we serve.

  • IDD Organizations in Housing:  We invite organizations that specialize in housing solutions for the IDD community to join us in this campaign. Together, we can identify innovative housing strategies, share best practices, and advocate for policies that enhance accessibility and affordability.
  • IDD Organizations in Services:  Beyond housing, we encourage service organizations focused on supporting individuals with IDD to collaborate. By linking housing initiatives with essential support services, we can create holistic solutions that empower individuals to thrive within their communities.
  • Policymakers and Government Officials:  We urge local and state policymakers to participate actively in the "Lead Us Home" campaign. Your leadership is crucial in advocating for legislative changes that promote inclusive housing. By working together, we can advance policies that dismantle systemic barriers and create a legislative environment supportive of affordable housing development.
  • Non-profit Organizations and Advocates:  We call upon non-profit organizations that serve the IDD community and affordable housing supporters to unite under the "Lead Us Home" banner. Your passion and dedication can amplify our message and influence legislative discussions in key battleground cities and counties.
